Start at 7 AM - pretty much nothing but fog until Panixerpass, then sunnier and warmer on approach to the final slope. Not too warm on the final slope, harscheisen weren't completely necessary but certainly a help. We left our skis at the skidepot on the east ridge at 3140HM or so, but skis can certainly be taken to the summit (and ski descent from the summit is also possible). Firn and otherwise very hard snow for almost the entire descent.
Found a pair of gloves at the summit, if you can describe them (color, brand, etc) I can post them to you.
