Strahlhorn (4190m): Zermatt - Strahlhorn - Saas-Fee
Icy pistes to get up to Sunnega made us question our choices. Moraine descent to Findelgletscher was bare of snow without a clear path, this took much longer than a ski would have. Ascent to the Adlergletcher was exposed to wet slides and large rock fall, and the traverse was icy as well. From there there we followed descent tracks up to the Adlerpass which was in very good condition. Skinned the whole pass but did notice some wet slides near the rock face. The ascent ridge to the Strahlhorn was a bit bare/icy at times but generally good.
Descent down to the Adlerpass was fantastic. Fresh snow from tues/weds is still there and has been staying cold. Still had some space to find some fresh turns but need to be mindful of the crevasses and some cornices on the north ridge.
Down to 3300m was all very nice snow, but clearly becoming more heavy as the day went on.

Skiing should be nice for at least a few days more. Issues in the lower ascent are unlikely to change significantly.
